Today was a drive-and-admire day. Since it took nearly 3 hours to get to the Tetons, we simply enjoyed the beautiful scenary from the confines of our car.
The Grand Teton National Park was worth the drive. It was far more beautiful than Yellowstone. The mountains were higher, more rugged and snow/glacier spattered. There were signs of the fire here as well, but it was hardly noticeable because you were captivated by the lakes and mountains.
The air also smelled sweeter full of sage and wildflowers and not the noxious smelling sulphur mudholes and lakes. *shudders*
We ate a picnic style lunch near Jenny Lake underneath the looming Grand and Middle Tetons then drove to small stream where Ron fished for awhile, intent on catching at least one fish before leaving. He managed to catch a trout at a creek near our campsite and everyone but me ate some fresh cooked trout for dinner.
And before you know it. Our vacation was coming to a close. Day 4 of the vacation was spent driving back to Colorado.
